My eyes were opened to the insurance industry after a car accident ended my 27-year professional dance career. Navigating the injuries that followed being rear-ended pulled back the curtain on everything frustrating about how insurance actually works. I was facing unexpected bills at the doctor with no real idea why — after paying for coverage every month, it felt less like protection and more like "pick your poison."
So I did what I know how to do: I learned everything I could, for myself. Along the way, I realized I wasn't alone — so many people I know feel exactly the same confusion and frustration about their coverage. That's why I became an independent insurance advisor, and why I built Evenstate Wellness: to help people get coverage they actually understand, that fits their life, and that fits their budget.
